I love Marantz. Mine's over a year old. Wonder if I can convince the wife, while I'm unemployed, that I need to upgrade. :D

If the NR1501 makes it to accesseries for less, you can bet it'll be uber cheap. You can also bet I will get one for my bedroom. I love compact components.:D

It does have the right look, and WAF approval badge of certification on it.

anyone know if the GUI will be an overlay? Or will it black out the screen then pull up then menu like the 6003?
In case anyome is interested - regarding the Slim Marantz NR1501 - the GUI does not overlay over the video and the output resolution, even over HDMI is only 480i. It came close to being an ideal receiver for me, very close since the only signal left that I need scaling for is my HD Satellite tuner sending 480i SD & 1080i HD signals. I would have been happy with the iChips scaler like that found in the 6003/6004 but it is not to be! I pipe a 2nd TV output into my bedroom and it can only be a coax or composite connection as these are the only types available on the tuner for a 2nd output. Hence, the SD as well as the HD channels could have really use some scaling from this unit. It will convert analog signals to output through HDMI, but no scaling.
