No, you tried to equate the reasonable position and statements of millions of Americans with the words and deeds of a murderous psychopath. You presented a straw man argument, suggesting that if McVeigh held those beliefs, millions of other Americans that hold those beliefs also may be potential psychopaths for holding what is otherwise quite reasonable and widely held views.
It was the report in question that suggested military veterans were susceptible to be recruited by right wing terror groups. I wanted to point out that Mr. Rehbein's response was correct, i.e. that comparing the masses of conservative voters to McVeigh is just like measuring the whole of Islam by the actions of Bin Laden. At least Napolitano is currently making the rounds to all the stakeholders and apologizing for that implication in the original report, unlike others who smear a broad swath of the American population with comparisons to McVeigh.
