Here's a law I'd like to see enacted - mandatory, random drug testing for elected officials in Congress with penalties including suspension, loss of pay, and potential lifetime suspension from the office they hold.

I would support this but with one caveat: make it applicable only if those congressmen have supported any 'war on drugs' legislation. Also make sure it extends to any illegitimate use of over-the-counter pharmaceuticals.

I do however, absolutely despise the false information so often distributed via the internet.

I rated his post a winner as I thought it was pointing out such a scam.

To be sure, I never would believe you initiated the scam and my approval of his (erroneous) correction was neither about you or the 2nd amendment.

"Friendly" was merely an attempt to continue the Life Savers theme of vanity karma going on there. I had no opinion on the actual content of the post.

I just returned from Tahoe. The skiing was fantastic. No gun confiscations taking place.

I don't drink the NRA Kool-Aid nor do I drink the government's. Within this Twitter account are sundry ways of looking at data WRT guns, deaths, etc. Information appears to me to be culled from reputable sources but the final judgement is yours.

IMO, Obama's intentions and desires are sincere. I've got no problem with augmenting mental health databases. But maybe directing efforts to gangs, just as an example, might be more fruitful.

There's a forfeiture law up here for instances where there has been spousal abuse, mental problems, etc. But I have not heard of any instances where this process has been abused. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but if it does, it's probably pretty rare. I'm happy to know that people like that can have their firearms confiscated. But, I understand how attached you guys are to your weaponry, so I can see why many of you might be concerned.
