First, as a new member I would like to “score one” to the Audioholics site and members!!! For excellent discussions and reviews!
Recently like a whole bunch of US consumers I decided to Jump into the HDTVworld, so I started by researching HDTV ( a month later) confused but Hooked I decided on a HDTV. Next, I needed more power (lol) to my receiver. So I started researching new receivers. I can not believe it but I finally threw down an got one of those! Next, I have to add to my existing speakers, so i'm 7.1 now, up from 5.1.
Well, I am impressed with all the new things and set ups I have. I made one big mistake it seems. During the purchase of my new TV (all excited an all) I bought a BD player without researching! Now to my real question and reason for the post:
Dolby Digital plus, Decoding, Dolby TrueHD, dts-decoding, dts-HD (there is a #1 and #2?)And please excuse my language, Damn, A MASTER???
Could someone put all this decoding stuff in perspective? I am beginning to wonder after trying to talk to one of the major manufacture in the world several times an I have yet gotten the technical support people to address questions regarding Audio capabilities of their own product, if there is such a thing as TrueHD sound?
