They had power but it's like they weren't getting a signal. After I changed the setting to LFE+Main is when I was happy with them. This was with movies and music regardless of 5.1 or if it was set to stereo. When I moved the towers from the corners of the room to next to the TV and put the subs in the corners and reran the audessey is when my lack of bass began.
If I remember right the crossover is set to 120hz I think?

Well they either were getting a signal or not. If they weren't getting a signal it's possible at lower levels the signal of the sub pre-out was too low to trigger a sub amp's auto on.....but that's not the same as simply a lower level than you prefer. You can raise sub level separately, too. I'm just saying do some more experimentation but in the end its simply preference.
Hard to know what's happening, could simply be cancellations/room modes to an extent, which are what shapes bass in most rooms in typical homes
(try this article). Music doesn't have a huge sub content in general, depending on specific music. Placement of subs can be key.
What are your crossovers now that you mention it? (The LPF of LFE is not a crossover, it's simply a low pass filter limiting the ".1" channel's frequency range, but since that's normally up to 120hz only, that's the usual setting).
