I'll have to do it on my own. The wife is out of town and I do not have any children that I know of. If I do they are on their own at this point. I think I need to point them downward more but not sure how I am going to do that. I might build something out of wood to create the angle that I need. I could use a laser and attach it to the top of the speaker with tape. Problem is that what do I point it at? The chair where I sit or the center of the room?

The 3650C I have have the woofs turned to the center of the back of the room where I sit and the tweets are pointed that direction as well. The center is also pointed at the chair I sit in.
Like I said, I can't really tell you where to point it to sound best to your ears.

Depending on who's recs you believe, one goal is to point the speakers at a point that is about 1 or 2 feet behind your head at the listening position.

As far as angling speakers, it is pretty common to use isolation pads for this task. These are foam pads used to decouple speakers from a desk, you see them often in studios. The foam is cut at an angle, so you can reposition the cut piece to make the speaker point flat, point up, or point down.

I have these

The Mopads are probably slightly better quality (I have a pair of these too) and they fit most bookshelf speakers a little better (check the dimensions on each), but don't pay $45 for them! I got mine on sale for about the same price as those others I listed.

On a side note, if I were in your situation I would strongly be considering a set of the Wavecrests. I have not heard these myself, but nothing but great reviews (from guys on this site). Be sure they would fit your space, and don't be fooled by the cheap price.

Dennis said that he has been resorting to custom builds on these until they get that worked out. If those are an option for the OP, then contact Dennis directly at Philharmonic.

PS--I own a pair of the stock Alexis, bought them from Dennis, mine were a demo pair from an audio show. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
The remaining Asian Philharmonitors (AKA Alexis) won't be available until the new year, and then in limited quantities. Although I have had Jim Salk build a couple of custom Philharmonitors, I lose money on them and am discontinuing the line. I have a new 3-way monitor that I'm introducing this week. I hope to have details on my site by tomorrow or Saturday.

It's a large 3-way bookshelf that uses the same RAAL tweeter in the Slims, the latest version of the venerable Scan Speak 8545 7" woofer, and a new Balanced Mode Radiator for the midrange. I've been Beta testing this for the past several months, so you may have seen some discussion. It's big, so it's not for girly-boys. But it will be a more economical way to get the frequency range of a floor-stander (down to 30 Hz) without the cabinet cost.

Well, it sounds interesting! Seems to me that there are not a lot of true 3 way BS designs out there.

It would be neat if it would "just happen" to fit on the Ascend stands for the mini towers :)

Will it be front ported?

Will it play nice (timber match) with the Alexis?

As I said--these aren't for girly-boys. They're 9" wide and 13.5" deep, so it's a no-go with the Ascend stands. But I'm sure Jim Salk could whip something up if you wanted them to look like towers.
Only custom versions by Jim can be front-ported. They should match the basic sonic signature of the Philharmonitors. The midrange will be fuller, however, and there will be more air at the very top and a good bit more bass extension.

Seriously, I have no life.
I am new here but not new to audio components and home theater. I have had a Harman Kardon AVR80 for 18 years and finally upgraded to a new Denon 4520CI. THis has created a new problem where my current speakers will perish under the weight of the new receiver.

My current list of speakers:
Klipsch fronts 2.1 bookshelf
Klipsch 3650C surrounds
Klipsch SW15-2 powered subwoofer
Energy RVS Center

The HK AVR80 ran these speaker okay as long as I was careful with them and have never topped out the volume to blow them up. They sound decent enough for 5.1 sound that was good equipment long ago.

So now I have a good AVR on the way I need some suggestions as to what I should be looking at to better outfit the power and quality of it. I am looking to upgrade the fronts and the center first. The Klipsch 3650C's are going to be fine as surrounds and the subwoofer is also going to stay.

I have been looking around at speakers that I know like the Klipsch RC 64ii center and fronts. Trying to find speakers that compete in the same price point and performance has become quite difficult. I have a budget of $1000-$1200 for the first three. More than likely I will bump that up when I learn more about what quality speakers cost today.

If you have any suggestions for a new member I would like to hear them.
"Perish under the weight", as in "be damaged by the AVR's output power? If you don't operate outside of the power handling capability of the speakers, you should never have a problem.

If you like your speakers, use them.
