I did listen to the psb Imagine Towers recently, the highs and the mids were fine, but the lows were almost non-existent :(

Subs seems to be necessity if I do plan to buy these speakers. Anyone else had a similar experience?
Thats really weird since the specs indicate in and around 40 Hz for their low frequency response as shown here.

Could be the room setup was incorrect for that. They should do just fine with most music but for HT, I would throw a sub in the mix.

The Studio series is a league up from PSB Image series and prices reflect this. If you want to compare studio series, look at PSB's Imagine series speakers for a more apples to apples comparison. Here's a review of a HT suite built around the T65s and they comapred to an Axiom HT built around teh M80s and the reviewers thought the PSB the better setup of the two.

This review compares a $2996 PSB Image T65 (tower) based system to a $1625 Axiom M22ti (bookshelf) based system not the Axiom M80s. I sure hope the T65 system sounded better. ;)

Maybe it’s another link?

Does anyone have any experience with the Swan 6.2s??

QUOTE]

I have the Swan 4.2s - I really like them. They are great speakers sounds is well balanced and really fill the room. The build quality on them is top notch. They also have surprising bass response for only the 5 1/4" drivers. I can only imagine the 6.2 are that much better.

Good Luck.

What are your thoughts on Def Tech BP7002?

How do they compare to Paradigm Studio 100s?
No matter what anyone says, you have to compare them in your OWN room.

Everyone has different tastes, and every room's acoustics is different.

I've listened to the Paradigm S100 at one dealer (pure direct mode on Yamaha receiver), and I thought it sounded horrible. However, the sales guy thought the S100 sounded just fine and peachy in that room.

I've listened to the BP7002 at a different dealer (pure direct mode on Denon receiver), and I thought it sounded a lot better than the S100, but still not great.

My conclusion: bad room acoustics in both dealers and bad speaker placement (too close to walls, too close to each other, etc.).

find a decent AV store (ie not best buy) and bring a few CDs/DVDs and go listen to everything they have.

Make sure you are sitting with your ears at the tweeter level - ie dont stand and listen to stuff.

from there you might elimintate a few brands and be able to say (I really like the sound of the XXX, what else is just like that) and really narrow it down.

Thanks guys!!!

However, the dealer near my place do not carry these brands together. That's why I wanted an opinion on what you guys thought would have been a good choice, if you had auditioned them together :)
