I have been using the same Panamax power protection device for many years for my home theater. Is there any reason to replace these periodically?
No, unless it was for some reason damaged by a very bad lightning strike. Otherwise, I don't see any reason to replace it.I have been using the same Panamax power protection device for many years for my home theater. Is there any reason to replace these periodically?
Thank you. That makes sense. No, unless it was for some reason damaged by a very bad lightning strike. Otherwise, I don't see any reason to replace it.
I've been using APC products too for over 15 years and had no issues. Using an H15 Power Conditioner on my HT equipment, I never have to worry in the event of a power failure and following power restoration.I had a Panamax die after just a few months and I don't have power issues. Replaced it with another one and that one had one bank fail too. Different house. They are actually local for me, but I switched to APC and have not had any issues with it since. That's not to say I don't like them...
It SHOULD be periodically replaced, but probably not under 10yrs I'd say.
I'm not sure of the difference, I guess, but I don't think it is one that is something that gets "used up".Is it the hybrid or series mode type of protector? Or the kind that eventually get "used up"?
