Hey guys I need some help. My sister is getting married next spring. I need a pair of speakers for family events and parties that will take place at home before the wedding. I need the speakers to be efficent and play loud. I would like the speakers to have some bass but if i need more I could always use a subwoofer. Now the second bird that I want to kill is that after the events I would like to use the speakers in a seperate two channel setup. So i am looking for some quality speakers. People recommend me cerwin vega but i don't think they are that good for two channel listening. These speakers could be brand new or I can go used thru canuck audio, ebay ect. So guys if you can recommend me anything that would be good

thanks

For what you are talking about, I'd say Klipsch should do the trick for that kind of duty. Better than CV for 2ch use and should handle event duty fine as well.

What is your budget and what size space are we talking about?

I agree with JGarcia and without knowing any other particulars...Klipsch. I see decent models on the local Craigslist from time to time, cheap. Even if they're high...barter kicks in.

I had a pair of Altec Valencia's for awhile. The cabinets were like 36"x36"x24" with a 15" woofer and a big horn loaded tweeter. Those things rocked and you could run them with a few watts if you wanted to........... they come up on the used market as well.

Anything from the "Heritage Series" would probably fit your bill. They show up on craigslist a lot for about $400/pair.
