need some help, quite a delima

Please take a look at my sig below;

I want to replace the cerwin Vegas with a new pair of tower speakers that LOOK similar to the lovely cabinet design of the Onix Rockets 750 I have. I also want equivalent sound quality, and of course price is important. I have not been in the game for several years since I bought the Rockets so Im not familiar with what might work and my options are to buy new or to find some used rockets since I hear AVR-123 is no longer in business?

What is your budget and are you set on towers? If they're going in the place of the CV's (rear surrounds) why not bookshelves?

I guess I just sort of assumed it woudl be best to keep the fronts and rear identical or similar.
What is the theory on going with a smaller or lower power handling speaker in the rear?
I've always wondered about this, does not the rear work as hard as the front when properly set up?
I also like the towers just so everything looks the same and it going in an area where the taller tower will work better
unless I use a stand under the bookshelf speakers

Well your rears are completely different from the rest of your setup so they aren't timbre matched to begin with. Just because they are towers and your fronts are towers doesn't mean they sound even remotely the same, which I'll bet the house they don't given that the design goals of CV are completely different from the design goals of the Onix speakers.

Since you're crossing the rear surrounds over to a sub, towers aren't necessary, only a good pair of bookshelves. The rear speakers can work pretty hard during the right movies, but a great set of bookshelves would be able to handle that easily, especially if they're crossed over to subwoofers. Plus you'll get a better return for your money with bookshelves, unless you're budget is above $1000.

tell me a little please about what you mean by my rears are crossed over to a sub.
I run a sub up front and a sub in the rear of the room as I like LF stuff and no music its all movies.
I think you may be referring to the settings on the amp wherein you can send LF signals to the rears as well as the sub if the speaker is
considered to be a "large"?
Please elaborate on that and as far as budget, Id like to stay at 1,000 for the pair or below

I have not owned the Onix Rockets - however do not be surprised what the
Focal speakers can do.

Also, based on some pass measurements of the Onix Rockets - which showed
some frequency problems - I am confident, that the Focals will more than hold
their own.
