Klipsch RB-61 or PSB Image B25?

My budget is about $500 for a pair of bookshelf's for mains. Also can I mix my JBL's until I can buy the rest?

Thanks

2 totally different sounding speakers. No one can tell you which you should purchase. Have you auditioned these speakers?

mazersteven,

I have not listen to them yet. My neighbor told me about the PSB's and I read some threads about the Klipsch's. What do you mean about sounding different? I need a speaker that can be use for HT and music. My room is 13 x 15.

Thanks for your reply!

Every speaker is going to have different sound quality's. Speaker enclosure design, crossover design, drivers all play a part.

So being that the PSB and Klipsch are totally designed different. They will sound different. It is highly recommended that you audition both. Bring your own material that you are familiar with you audition.

One of the main differences is the horn tweeter. Some love them some hate them. They are more pronounced in my opinion, and sound more in your face. I don't like the sound unless they are in a very large room (think concert venue), where they can fill the room with sound easier. Go listen to the 2 of them and let us know what you think.

Like Mazer said, two totaly different kind of sounds. PSB is voiced slightly warm of neuatral. The highs are clear and well developed but do not stand out. Its a speaker that invites you to listen,,,,like a soft spoken pewrson. You end up paying attention to that person. The Kliptch on the other hand seem to have a more pronounced treble. It throws out the sound whether or not you want to listen to it or not. You just have to figure out which type of sound you prefer. I'm PSB biggest fanboy in here but there afew others who also have purchased PSB and swear by them. There are those too who like the Klipsch sound. You really need to audiiton for yourself and determine from music that yo know verywell, what tyep of sound suits you best. I did say music. Any speaker can do HT but not any speaker can do music well. Good luck and let us know which way you decided to go. :)

Look at speakers as kinds a like ice cream or women.

Yeah, it's all ice cream but some like vanilla, some like chocolate, etc...

And, wimmen is wimmen but some like blondes, some like brunettes, etc...

It's all good but it all boils down to a personel preference. Just because something is right for one doens't mean it's right for you.
