I can't stand movie theatres anymore because of these reasons:

1: I swear, 20-30 minutes after the movie starts, my *** starts to hurt! And this alone ruins the entire movie for me. From this point on all I can think is how bad I want to get up.

2: The picture quality is terrible. Yeah sure, it's huge, but it's terrible in my opinion. DVD even on 4:3 looks better.

3: The sound is terrible. Sure the sound system may have cost them $40,000 or more, but it's so loud and boomy it's offensive.

4: I'm a smoker. I can defeat all the previous complaints at home with my system and my pause button, and on top of that I can get up and go have a smoke, walk around, go to the fridge, turn the movie off if I don't have the time or interest.

The movie theatre is unneccesarry at this point. And it's only going to become less and less appealing. It doesn't matter if theatres upgrade their projectors/screens/audio systems, people are going to realize they can get an even better experience at home on their own terms, and it's just as family friendly btw. Boo to the cinema!
