You know I thought they were HT2-TL but they did not have a port near the base. They did have that Raal tweeter though, which did not sound like any aluminum/silk i've ever heard. I still have not heard a Berrylium tweeter, can anyone compare the sound for me?
I have both - the Salk SoundScape M7's with RAAL and the Paradigm Sigs with Be tweeter....
The RAAL puts all the information out there without seeming as its anywhere near bright or heavy handed, they are easier on the ears with nothing missing, delicate, intricate, softer I guess.... I'm not very good at these descriptions....
The Be in the Sig S8's is very clean and clear excellent on the symbols and triangle / bells type instruments with very good dispersion, but its def a bit brighter then the ribbon... extremely revealing, almost to a fault, but not overbearing like a horn, much softer. Closest metal dome I have heard that comes close to a ribbon. I tend to turn the treble down on the Sigs to get close to the RAAL's, and that helps quite a bit...
My room is still quite bright, and I'm sure if I had more high band absorption that would help a good deal, but thats not going to happen.
I do still like the Be in the Sigs quite a bit.... But I prefer the RAAL.
When I first got the Salks, I was used to the Sigs so much that I thought the tweeters were just not giving me everything.... as though something was missing, but as I got more and more time with them it was the Sigs that were the problem... Not awful, but certainly more bright....
Obviously these traits will be different in every room.... still have to listen to them side by side in the same room...
