QUALITY & PLENTIFULL bass is a BEAUTIFULL thing. out ..........
The correction for the SPL meter at 20 Hz is about +7 or +8 dB.ok my KAPPA brutha. i am thinking rosewood. but idk, that may be overkill with the swans being rosewood. i am going to add some more internal bracing.
i watched DEATH RACE last night (i got a good replacement from NETFLIX). and the wife didn't want to watch it, so i cranked it up. i sure wish the producers would learn when and when not to put lfe in a movie.
test cd, i got 110db(not RS meter corrected = actual reading on the meter.) @ 20hz @ my chair.
It's nice to see a part of me in something someone else builds. Those drivers had a nice shelf to live on here. I see they are doing much better for themselves now.ok my KAPPA brutha. i am thinking rosewood. but idk, that may be overkill with the swans being rosewood. i am going to add some more internal bracing.

Yes, the DCX will up the signal level. The DCX is the best tool to use anyways to manage crossover duty for the mains and subwoofer(s). But you have to have a component amp for the mains to route the DCX to the mains.thanx, guys. i am happy with em. and, a part of each of you is in em. for me to do this all by myself = lol, laughable. but your help made it possible....
they do still have issues. i think there is still more DB's in em. i have the reciever at +10, and the ep2500 is all the way up. so i'm thinkin the amp is not getting enough signal ? are the signal led's supposed to be on all the time ?... if i understand correctly. the DCX2496 can up the gain, perhaps this is the ticket. and i'm sure they could use some eq. idk if that $300 would give me what i am after. i am learning on the fly here.
my wife is happy they are working. she wants me to rebuild her bathroom/shower.
i have been putting it off to build my system. lol.
For bass range, yes, you could use the RS meter and a test CD along with a good dose of patience as you manually plot the responses on graph paper.ok. i was looking into REW. that is just to much for me to get into right now. my wife is understanding, and letting me slide. but she wants her bathroom rebuilt, yesterday. that said. could the DCX be cobled up with a RS meter and test CD ?
From my understanding you'd have to spend around $1500+ at certain ID manufactures to equal the abilities of the kappa build. I know that my old HSU VTF 3/2 at around $700 retail don't hold a candle to them.oh. what model/s would these kappa builds compare to ?
Make sure you don't overdrive them. Last thing you want to do is blow the drivers. I've heard of a person blowing this There was someone who put this sub at 18hz and even with 500 watts of amp the sub blew during Transformers.thanx, guys. i am happy with em. and, a part of each of you is in em. for me to do this all by myself = lol, laughable. but your help made it possible....

2 complete builds with run you $650 for 2 Kappa's....are you talk 1 kappa, or 2 kappa's ? per that $1500ish .
One.are you talk 1 kappa, or 2 kappa's ? per that $1500ish .
You should be fine with a LP of 18hz using a 12db/octave, that's what I'm running after Chris recommended it.Make sure you don't overdrive them. Last thing you want to do is blow the drivers. I believe that he is saying one Kappa with proper amp and setup will compare easily with a 1500.00 sub , no problem.are you talk 1 kappa, or 2 kappa's ? per that $1500ish .
A single kappa is equal to a 1500 dollar subwoofer. Once you factor in the enclosure, marketing, overhead and labor.are you talk 1 kappa, or 2 kappa's ? per that $1500ish .
