My DIY sub setup: Opinions?

I modeled the two subs in question with not so good results actually. Upon further reading, Dayton actually admits the subwoofers do not model well. Going sealed would work but would require an EQ at the lower frequecies. Ported yielded extremely large enclosures 7-9 cubic feet or so. I did not model the 12" high fidelity sub yet though. That may do a pretty good job in this case. Sorry for it taking a while.

OK. Best bet so far for nice, flat, low end response is a 5.0 ft^3 enclosure tuned to 20hz for the Dayton Audio 12" High Fidelity sub woofer. It is flat to 21hz anechoic. Use dual three inch aero ports at 16.42" long. It should have usable response to at least 16hz in room possibly lower. With the 500 watt bash amplifier it would be a serious contender with any of the $1,000 pre-built subs. Using good enclosure building techniques and a little sweat and you will have a world class sub woofer for under $300.00 :)
