That sure is purdy Midcow. Nice choice. Now calibrate the darn thing and put on some Deftones and "break" it in properly:D I am jealous bro.....:D
Okay Jamie I order Avia 2 and SPL meter (maybe SMS-1 next time)

Now gotta watch the Cowboys beat the Sooners.

Review of SVS PB12-Plus

I bought the Avia 2 disk and the Radio shack digital SPL meter.

The Avia disk is kind of elementary, but would be a good start for a beginner getting into HT.

I tweaked my color a little; very easy to do using the disk.

I used the Marantz speaker setup menu and the SPL meter to set the SPL of all my speakers equal, then I added 10 dB to the subwoofer. I bought a Radio Shack SPL digital meter for $49.99 It worked great and was very easy to use.

The speaker sound is much cleaner and better than the automatic Audessy setup.

Now I am really enjoying the SVS PB12-Plus sub. The sound is clear and not boomy. the deep sounds really come through clear.  I give it two thumbs up!! I am currently running without hte optional plugs which is rated down to 25 Hz.

Now that I have the video and audio calibrated, I just need to sit back and enjoy!

Take care and sound on

Glad to hear you are enjoying your new sub. The SVS Plus series is a very good sounding sub, I was surprised at how much depth I was missing out on until I finally got a "real" sub. Plus the customer service at SVS is second to none.

Well everything may get better with a good sub.....

Do you use any kind of high pass filters on your main speakers "to free them up" a bit, that may improve upon even the toughest speakers......

So that is what a MIDCOW looks like......
Man is it big and heavy. It looks nice and fit in well. I haven't had a chance to really test it out put it in the system and went through Audessy; need to callibrate better later.

The packing and quality are nice; found one scratch on top 3/4" liong it look like the made an amatuer arremp to fix. Not obvious only I will know. I have already given SVS my 2 cents about it.

Here are some pictures:

The happy look :)
