As some of you know, I'm disabled, a C 3-4 Quadriplegic for the last 20 years. My buddy Kerry, my prized caregiver received a Sony 52" for X-mas from a rich relative. Knowing nothing about Audio/Video, he asked me to find him a black Sony HTiB to match his new TV. His wife wanted a 5.1 surround system for X-mas.

Now I've been in this hobby for 25 years, and no best friend of mine is going to have some chessy HTiB. So he bought this Aperion system in Piano Black.

So to power it, I'm giving him this.

The 422 LR's (all four) will be mounted to the front and rear walls near the ceiling with ball joint mounts, and then angled as needed. These speakers will be wired with 10 guage Blue Jeans speaker wire with banana plugs.

Kerry is on a budget here, so we will re-use his existing DVD player for movies and music CD's.

All reviews read seem to say that the Aperion Audio 422 Harmony system is a great buy at $799.00 :) And it gets rave reviews about sound quality.

Merry Christmas Kerry and Cindy!

Wow, wish I had friends like you!;) I'm sure he is going to love it.

Sounds like Kerry is one hell of a guy.

He's irreplaceable. So I gave him the Onkyo 605. I can't wait to hook it all up!

Awesome, most people now days could give a s#!t less about other people & take for granted the things people do for them.

Its nice to hear about real human beings doing something selfless for a friend.

I agree. It's refreshing to hear about gifts being given from a sincere sense of gratitude and appreciation. Ric, it's good to know that you have friends like this around you.

Thanks for the kind words everybody.

Questions About Onkyo 605:

I plan on running one HDMI cable to the Sony Widescreen, and hooking up the DVD, X-Box 360, and Directv to the 605, probably with RCA's. Will the chip in the Onkyo do any up conversion?

Thanks In Advance.

Wow Ric. Nice setup I am sure he will be very please.

The 605 will upconvert to HDMI.

The blurb from the Onkyo web site is:

HDMI V1.3 repeater (2in/1out, 1080p compatible)
HDMI video up-conversion with DCDi technology
Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD decoding

Being disabled myself, and was incapable of self support for 2 years, I know EXACTLY how much a caregiver is needed.
I was fortunate enough to have a good friend take care of me.

I'm positive your 'friend' will love the gift. Not that any gift can show love, or can even give back for years of loyalty.
It clearly does show that your heart is in the right place.

So I will to add, (+1) good for you.;):)

It is truly a blessing to have friends like you, Ric. (I do!!) You're a good man, buddy. Merry Christmas!!

Wow,

I haven't seen this kind of generosity since.... ever!

Chicklet for you sir!

What a great holiday gift!!!!! The Onkyo is icing on the cake.

My father is also in the hands of a caregiver that takes excellent care of him at home so I know how vaulable their services and friendship can be.

No amount of money can compensate them for their loyalty but your gesture is sure to be appreciated!!!!!

Happy Holidays everyone!!!!!

Thanks for the kind words everybody. Kerry is outstanding, just a super great guy. And with that big Sony he's got, he deserves real sound.

I want to wish everybody a Wonderful Holiday, as this one will be special for me!

What makes this such a nice gift isn't it's features, watts, or looks. It's that it was given from your heart. :D

Merry Christmas Ric.
