Paulvader Junior Audioholic Mar 16, 2005 51 0 0 Jul 14, 2005 #5 Thanks, guys. Mds, I'd love to put some BIG furniture up there. The problem is the doorway to the attic is in a closet of one of our bedrooms . Down the stairs to the immediate right is the doorway to the bedroom. We're looking for some modular type of furniture. The wife works with an interior designer as well so with the right help from "moi", we'll find some nice things to put up there. Audiosouse, I jumped at the opportunity to get these 90 P's because the dealer was selling them at 50% off. I didn't even plan on a purchase when I went in. I was just drooling at the stuff I wanted (everything lol) I asked about the monitor 7's & 11's and saw the P's and fell head over heels lmao! As for a sub, I was not too too impressed with the subs at 1st, but after I gave the bass & trebble an adjustment - quite nice. I couldn't imagine needing more low end...maybe in a year or too (wife) The room is 28' long and 13' wide. The room was finished as is in the photo when we moved in. Our 1st thought was master bedroom. Then this idea floated by me and to my joy the wife agreed! Oh, yah and my newest smile is from the bar fridge we put up in the corner . Cygnus those towers weigh more than my car lol! Thanks again guys.

That is awesome. That means you are like this close to having the batcave for your HT room. Those 90P's look great. I for one like the seats, very Dr. Evilish. That's a good sized room to work with, and it lookes like you're off to a great start.

Click to expand... I only asked because I've never had the pleasure, or even seen them in a store. Isn't it just the absolute best feeling when you get an awsome piece of equipment for a great deal! I read a review that just raaaaved about them from Secrets. I like that mag, especially the DVD Benchmark. Here you go if you've not read it, it will really make you feel warm and fuzzy about those 90 P's! http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/volume_8_3/paradigm-monitor-speakers-7-2001.html It's older, but I thought the reviewer was literally going to make nookie with them! BTW, you did the right thing by making that attic an HT room! I've got my eye on a place that's got one just like it!

I can't wait until we paint...a nice dark room, the wife wants to put up a velour curtain behind the t.v. I plan on mounting the centre speaker above the t.v. and if I can get into the crawl space, I'll try to tidy up the cables and wiring. Oh, yah. The chairs are kinda neat - until beer #6-7 or glass 3-4 of wine . Audiosouse, I hurt my eyes realll bad when I turned and saw those towers! lol. The price was marked down from $2200 Cdn, to $1200 just after Christmas (not quite 50% off) and they were clearing them out for the new model. The shake-my-head thing is that the only difference between the old and new model, according to the salesguy, was a different finish on the cabinet! I lovvvvve Paradigm, ever since my 1st set of monitor 5's 14 years ago, but I was really surprised to find out that an update from them was even as minimal as clolour of cabinet? Ah well...good products don't need too much tweeking, I guess ...btw, that article made me run up and hug the big lugs !!! lmao...a very good yet objective review, I thought. (does he work for Paradigm, though? )
