music listening options...

Hello. I have a Yamaha RX-A1040. How would I go about listening to music via USB or Youtube through my towers and subs x2?

how about my towers, center and subs x2?

I tried 2.0 but only ONE sub is working on this option.

what listening options would give me this? thx.

Wish I could help, but I have "only" one sub with my RX-A2040 (albeit a beefy one). I'm surprised that both wouldn't be working. How are you listening -- Stereo, Straight, or Pure Direct?

Not sure really. I just go through the sound formats on remote and chose 2.0. That gives me the towers and one sub. not sure why both aint going. when i choose dplII or dts....both subs work.

A couple things sound weird...

1. "2.0" by definition is no sub(s)... (that's what the 0 means).

2. Sometimes 1 sub plays, and sometimes 2 subs play.

For #1, I would reread the manual. Is "2.0" stereo, or more like stereo direct? Make sure you are not selecting a "direct" mode. Also, what is your sub selection? LFE? LFE + main? How about your crossovers? Are your front speakers set to "Large" or "Small"?

For #2, I would check how the subs are hooked up. Do your Yamaha have 2 separate sub outputs? Are you using a Y-splitter?
