Your tree looks like it is bearing fruit!
Whoa. Obscure City. I can usually follow posts--even on Audioholics--but this exchange has be baffled. Guess I'm even older than I thought.

It is an inside joke between me and afterlife2 - he communicated with me behind the scenes.
I was waiting for him to step up, and give a review.

So to bear fruit means, or should mean - that a good review is coming.:)

Sorry for the long wait. Here are some of my favorite go to high quality CD's I used to test my 52's Murphy - Under The Dome - Crossover. :) My main problem with these speakers was the sibilance it caused on some material. It really made me irritated to hear it, so I contacted Mr. Murphy after seeing Z's glowing review to see if he could do something about it. Yeah I know some recordings are just recorded this way. He said no promises but I will take a look. He kept in contact via email with me as everything progressed and also sent me stats sheets before and after. I got them back in less than 2 weeks. Right away I noticed more Clarity and Sibilance not as aggravating as before. It was really toned down. The new Dome Tweeter and Crossover did the trick. Mr. Murphy also sent me a demo of various songs, which I really liked. I'm hoping he can share the artists. :) Sorry I'm not very technical, so I can go as deep as Z and the others here. All I know is that I'm happy and I highly recommend you get these or the 22's at his site: Philharmonic Audio or email: info@philharmonicaudio.com
Thank you Mr. Murphy it was a pleasure corresponding with you.

That was plain, simple and direct.:)

Glad that you like them - that is a nice, clean, smooth and detailed tweeter.

Continue to enjoy the adventure.

Thanks Z. I'm hoping to get a pair of Murphy's bookshelf one day...hopefully if my luck turns around. ;)

Thanks for the report, Afterlife. Sibilance is more of a problem with the towers than with the smaller 22. Although the same tweeters appear to be used in both speakers, the tower response is peakier in the 5 - 7 kHz region, and the high frequency peak at 15 kHz is about 8 dB above the average output.

No more fatigue that's for sure I can now enjoy them. Dennis do you think the sibilance was caused by the old tweeter/crossover or the casing? Also do you mind giving me the name of the artists on the demo? Thanks.

It would have to be the crossover-tweeter interaction. I didn't change anything else. I'll see if I can send you a screen capture of the artist information I have on the CD table of contents.
