Your cables??I like mine burnt black, Cajun style. And it's Friday to boot!
Well... Not so much so. This article simply shows that Monster Cables are in fact marked up way beyond "normal" markups. It does not go in to the whole cable vs. cable argument, but it does link to one...Out of one frying pan and into... another frying pan.![]()
Yeah I know - I was just being facetious; it was the timing of it that made me chuckle, right in the aftermath of the other thread getting locked.Well... Not so much so. Monster sure does have the average consumer fooled, don't they?![]()

In that case I don't even want to know...Mine, being completely possessive, is left for the imagination.![]()
Well, whoever is responsible for the markup doesn't matter as much as the uninformed or mis-informed consumer who willingly takes it up the pooper as he shells out the dough for this fancy looking stuff, all because he either a.) honestly doesn't know any better, or b.) believes he knows better and goes on internet forums and smashes cream pies in everyone's face who tend to think a little more logically on the matter.Um, maybe this isn't clear: the retailers are the ones doing the marking up, not Monster... Which simply means they know they can charge more for the name, but it is still not handed down to them by Monster to charge what they charge, so the real issue should be with them.
Could that be: bose!Well, whoever is responsible for the markup doesn't matter as much as the uninformed or mis-informed consumer who willingly takes it up the pooper as he shells out the dough for this fancy looking stuff, all because he either a.) honestly doesn't know any better, or b.) believes he knows better and goes on internet forums and smashes cream pies in everyone's face who tend to think a little more logically on the matter.
Monster: An award-winning combination of looks, average functionality, extreme prices, and aggressive marketing - any other companies like this come to mind??![]()
How come when you go to the Monster site they list the price of their items? I use to go there to figure out what was what in order to buy the stuff on eBay.Um, maybe this isn't clear: the retailers are the ones doing the marking up, not Monster...
