I just received two of the model 3900 mounts from Monoprice. For $65 shipped, it was a great deal. Using one for my 40" LCD Samsung in the bedroom (which i hung last night, no way that thing is going anywhere) and the other for my 46" LCD Samsung in the entertainment room.

It says they can hold 165 pounds, but I will be doing some more research before I put my next TV (probably a 65" Plasma or LED LCD) on one.

The screws (#8x3" deck screws) are as close to the center of the stud as I could get them. Eventually when I cut a hole in the wall below the TV for an in-wall entertainment center that wood will be part of the support structure for that unsupported segment of wall that the TV hangs on. The 3/8" lag bolts that attach the mount go through that wood and into the studs yet again because I'm mental.
LOL, that is almost exactly how I was planning on mounting my kuro! The only real difference is I was going to use 4" deck screws :D
I'm adding the second coat of black paint tonight.

It wasn't so much the weight, but extra clearance. After ordering the mount I read in the manual they recommended 3"inches for ventilation.
Plus it'll be a little easier if I ever need to run additional connections.

This is how Alex mounted mine for me. It's on there (that's for sure )and I like the little extra clearance it gives me.

Walter's install is prettier but that's only because I was selling it in a sense. If it was ugly like mine he would have balked and it would have brought into question everything else I wanted to do. The lumber I chose from the surface appeared to be quarter sawn which made it particularly irresistible to me. As gmichael and Doug have long suspected, I am disturbingly interested in wood.

A Pro could'nt have done a better job than you Alex. I am in Blue Man Group heaven. You got me hooked on that one. Wife went out and I am going home and give it a little crank to see shat she can do.

At that kind of thing I am a pro ... ;)
It's the rest of the H/T thing that I am just an enthusiastic amateur at.

With the BMG I will say to stick to their recordings. I saw them live in Boston with my sister and g/f. If you count parking and travel time I want my 5 hours and $300 back well, my sister's $300.

I liked the show well enough to give it a 2/5 stars because of the drums but the girls hated it. Of course we all loved The Complex DVD that you saw part of and that I whole heartedly recommend. I think I had a thread about it entitled The Weekend or something.

So you got the Blu-ray, huh? I've been listening to The Stones LP's on your TT all day. I gotta say it sounds pretty good for an outdated antiquated format. Try not to terrorize your neighbors too badly. They're not as young as you and that crazy Rock&Roll probably scares them. The way you crank it it scares me. What are you ... 12 ?!? :D
