Monoprice subwoofers

I too would like to see a review on these....looking for Christmas ideas for a surround/sub setup for my father and would like to get him something decent for a simple surround setup but don't want to get him garbage.

No one yet? Bump. Please review it please. Maybe I'll get the 8 inch(I'm in a small studio apt) and see how I like it hmmm can't hurt and can be returned.

Review from Sound and Vision

I've read Brent Butterworth's reviews before. He has been in the industry a while, too. He reviewed my reference Canton's a few years ago.
He seemed to like the Monoprice sub at the price point.

I might cringe atthose measurements for a $300 sub, but for what is practically *free* it could make a decent casual/budget option. The review takes pains to indicate that it doesn't sound "one-notey", which is honestly what I would have expected.

I wish everyone was like audioholics and took apart the speaker to show the insides and such. (I want to convert the cabinet to a sealed cabinet and throw my own 12" woofer in there... )

Why not just build your own sealed cabinet, it's not that hard.
