That first A/B was a nice read Mike, thanks for posting it. I've heard that MA series and it's an excellent monitor. However, the second A/B? C'mon now....Infinity Beta? They stopped making good loudspeakers over a decade ago. Just an opinion guys, don't freak out.

I affectionately recall the Infinity EMIT-R tweeter and the....ugh, a very nice series that I can't recall off hand. Reference Series maybe? The cabinets has a corrugated cardboard side panel look...ring a bell with anyone?

The IRS monoliths are pretty killer but that isn't a "normal" speaker, as much as a space eater with divorce written all over them.

during the time i bought the infinitys, i didn't know i had other speaker choices. my first satellites were JBL so it was only natural that i go with bigger JBL's or Infinity's. in fact, i was supposed to buy the Primus series but decided i should really max out my budget. the b&m store i bought this from had pretty good service, so no regrets for me.

but if i knew polks were being sold here, i might have given the rti towers a listen.

Anything new to play with is cool, no argument there. I'm more of a planar loudspeaker fan so it's hard to go back to monkey coffins.

That being said, you're far more advanced than I am since I haven't even owned speakers for almost 5 months. I've just been doing headphones lately and playing with some other stuff.
