as in sending it in to klipsch for product exchanges if your still within warranty.

the hum that was described by previous post seems to be an acknoledged problem of the subwoofers by klipsch. and they except defect exchanges for that issue from what i've heard.

I really don't like the Logitechs. I once heard 2.1 Logitech setup, and the sound was terrible. The bass was way overblown, had no highs, no mids, had nothing but bass. Not my cup of tea.

Now if Altec-Lansing made a 5.1 set of these, then you would blow your mind. Not as punchy a sub as the Klipsch's, but unsurpassed for music. Good luck on your decision!

u have to hear the logitech z5500 because from a lot of reviews, it seems as it fixed a lot of problems that it has had in the past so can't really relate 2.1's with 5.1's

Hello, I’m in the market for some nice 5.1 multimedia speakers for my small, 250 square feet, 2000 cubed feet, living room. The speakers will be used for DVDs, games (console and PC), and some music. I’ve done my research, and I’m down to either Logitech’s Z-5500s or Klipsch’s ProMedia Ultra 5.1s. However, I am having a very hard time deciding which set I should go with.

I have the Klipsch and they are freaking fantastic...IF you upgrade the speaker cables. They zip cord they provide is junk and will deteriate the sound. Putting a Klipsch system on my PC is what led me to start upgrading the rest of my sound and HT systems, so Beware! :D
