Okay. I've had a long day so here goes with what might be a dumb question. If so flame away.

If I'm going to plug this HDMI cable into say my Plasma's HDMI connection just what exactly am I going to screw it into? I have no female threaded holes in my plasma to screw it into unlike a VGA port.

Actually, it's a very good question. I'm hoping they designed it so the average consumer can just replace the two screws on their hdmi ports with standard computer ones that accept screw in type connectors...

...please, please make it that simple.

In rush to shove HDMI down our throats, some very important things were omitted from the cable, like a way to secure it!!
As the starter of this thread noted had set had screw holes, but sadly most DON'T. John

Have a look at Gefen. If you have the option of removing a screw above the HDMI connection these cable work great.

I didn't want all the weight of the HDMI cable hanging from the socket. I tie-wrapped the cable to the back of the rack to take up the strain of the cable weight.

Makes sense to me. I tied mine up (as in ^UP^) to the wall mount. Now I don't have gravity working the weight of 3' of cable out of that stupid little socket. Some other force (so I'm not an engineer) is now pushing the cable into the socket. With a vertical socket that 'U' shape created would put more friction on one side to help anchor the plug against the jack.

Fine with me. I hope he does and I hope he makes a mint. Personally I'm gonna hold on to my $20 and continue to use the tying up method with that 1/2" wide Velcro strip available from PE.
