So, the cables didn't have an impact. I returned the receiver. I'll soon be looking into other AVRs. Thanks again for the troubleshooting help.
I was afraid that would be the case. If possible try and select a receiver that has had at least one reliable third party review with measurements.

What we don't know was if your receiver is just a faulty one, or the whole lot of that model have the problem. Knowing modern manufacture, I suspect the whole lot are duff.

Hi, I am experiencing a simular issue, with an SR7015 and LG OLED. I realize this post is pretty old by now, but did you manage to solve your issues (even if it meant different hardware)?

He got rid of that receiver but never posted back after the return. His issue had to have been a bad receiver, so if you have the same issue, it may have come from the same bad batch.

Thats odd as I have a LG TV and had issues with it conecting to my old Marantz SR6007, as a work around I conected my Oppo direct tothe TV via HDMI and then audio from the Oppo to the Blu-Ray input on the 6007, temp fix that was fixed compleatly with a new SR7015 and had no issues in that respect.
I have other issues not related to this with my SR7015 and it's not getting to the point where it may be the last of this brand I purchase, not sure what to get as a replacement as localy available brands are limited.
