Almost two years ago I was working a job I hated, and realized I was quickly approaching 30 without accomplishing much of anything that I wanted to with my life. I knew a change was needed, so I quite my job and went back to school. This Friday I will be graduating with my A.S. degree, accomplishing the first major life goal I had set for myself. I will be continuing my education in the fall, working towards a B.S. in optical engineering. As a graduation gift, I received a new computer desk. As you can see, my old setup was less than optimal.

After (the dogs like to be in the middle of the action):

You can see my DIY sub down in the corner:

My gift to myself was a new computer case, I might upgrade the internals sometime this summer:

Here's a close up of my wire management:

I still need to do some organizing and a bit more wire management, but it's a huge improvement. Also on the list is a new receiver, I'm still using an old one from a bookshelf system.

follow your dreams and your heart,

I lived my life in many ways for many years for other people and reasons, about 5 years ago,I took a leap and followed my own path finally, and the only regret I have is that I didn't do it sooner.

so thumbs up to you and have fun !

Congrats on getting your education like you wanted to do!

Very nice set-up that you've got there. I (of course) also like the pooches. :) What's the cone of silence for?

We (my girlfriend and I) rescued that dog from the shelter. Bunko is a senior dog and was going to be put down. When the shelter found him he had some ticks and sores that he had been chewing on quite a bit, he needed a cone to stop him from chewing on them and let them heal up.
