Large or Small setting

I did a quick search for this but couldnt find it and I have to jump in the car. I was hoping someone could chime before I got home.

Sould I set my speakers to large or small? I've got Klipsch RF-62s and a new SVS PB10-NSD [8)]. I believe I read they should always go to small, but I believe the Klipsch are rated down to 58hz or thereabouts. Opinions?

Small. Always small. Particularly with that sub which will handle bass infinitely better than your floorstanders could ever dream of.

Set all the speakers to "small" and the crossover to 80 hz.

In general, I agree with the others for movies...you'll probably want to set them to small. I'd recommend that you experiment, though, and find what's best for you.

In your other thread, I believe that you mentioned that you're running a 2.1 system and have your SPL meter and set-up DVD all ready to go. In my system, I prefer having my mains set to small when I'm running 5.1 sound. However, when I'm just listening to stereo music, I prefer to have my receiver run my mains as "large" and also output bass to my subwoofer (I don't know if all receivers let you do that), and then I adjust the crossover on my sub. My bookshelf speakers are rated down to 53 Hz. I just happen to prefer the way my system sounds for music when my bookshelf speakers run full range, so I suggest that you check out the different settings available to you.

if your towers can go down to 20Hz or lower than setting them to large is fine. personally, mine go down to 30 Hz and i leave them set to large. my subwoofer is terrible and only goes down to 35 Hz so it all depends on your equipment.
