Laptop Sleep Question

I have an Acer laptop with Windows 11, 16 GB Ram. If I close the top while it's on, that puts it in sleep mode, correct?

My Lenovo T530 ThinkPad which I bought used several years ago, with Windows 10 it goes to sleep mode as well. I guess the sleep mode depends on both the OS and the PC used.

My previous laptop was a Think Pad with Windows 10 and 4 gb RM. I looked into upgrading the RAM, but apparently there was nothing. I use my lap top basically exclusively to record LP's and then export or convert (which you have to do after each recording with Audacity) one LP took 3 to 4 minutes. My new one with Windows 11 and 16 GB RAM takes about 20 seconds or less. So I put the old one for sale with no bites for about a month. Finally, I decided to see if it was upgradable to Windows 11, which I had to figure why no one wanted it. It was not upgradable. Dang. I dropped the price to $40 and it finally sold. I really like this Acer. Illuminated keyboard is pretty cool. I bought it used for $200 and there are no signs of wear or even that it was used. I did a reset on it though when I bought it.
