The Monoprice SW-15 just went on sale for $209 dollars I needed some subs for my bedroom setup but I'm tapped out on spending a lot right now until I flip some speakers. These will be perfect for a year until I can buy better. I'll post you guys a review when they come in with some in room measurements. This may be a good budget sub we can offer new guys on a strict budget. I'll let you know

This is actually very interesting. Will be curious how these perform. With free shipping could be a very interesting steal for you at 15 inches ported. Not sure how they are selling some things for what they are selling for to be honest especially with free shipping

Speaks to the markup that must exist on some of this stuff

I bought a couple SVS PB1000's that I got for $500 a long while back that I ended up using in my bedroom and they have been more than great for that use. Wonder how these would compare? I'm not changing those out but just a note that those worked real good for a bedroom.

Yeah I don't think these will compete with even the PB 1000. They have no extension past 30 Hz but I suspect at 30 and above these will be very good. I'm flipping the JBL studio 698 and the GoldenEar Triton 3+. Those are both awesome speakers but I'm tired of trying to make big towers work in that small of a room. I would like my room to become a bedroom again Lol.

I did buy a used set of M&K S-150thx and the center channel the ac S-150 thx for a steal. They were still in great shape. I've always enjoyed the M&K sound and those speakers have a good neutral sound with great dynamics and good measurements if your directly on axis with them which I will be. Most importantly they can be wall mounted and will be further back then the towers from my listening position

It was hard to get a great soundstage out of big towers at the distance I was back from them in that bedroom.

These subs should do great to supplement the M&K speakers and for $418 for a pair? I could not turn this down

Yes I've listened to M&Ks before both v2 and v1 and greatly enjoyed both. These were in great shape and the deal I got I couldn't turn them down

I wanted smaller but I wanted something that could be very dynamic and have low distortion yet high output which a lot of bookshelves struggle with

Problem with most bedroom setups is that most people traditionally put their head board up against the back wall, and then add speakers on the front wall so they end up with their ears in the worst possible place. I have my bed favoring the front of the room, and the speakers at the foot of the bed on stands, that I then move back next to the dresser when not in use. I end up with a great image and phantom center, just like my main system. I used to have 15" floor standers in there and loved it. I have since put my Paul Carmody Classix2 in there and all I use it for is music with an echo dot and a CD player.

Yeah Im in that situation that's a great solution that you've done I'm just to lazy to move speakers back when I'm done with them :D

Do you happen to have a picture of your bedroom setup Im interested in how that layout looks I understand what your saying I just can't picture it in my mind

No pics and it's far from HGTV quality arrangement. I currently have the AVR for that system temporarily hooked up on my tabletop setup with the JBL S38II. Before all that, I had my bed against the opposite wall and I was essentially swimming in bass, especially when bass heavy tracks happened so I was always having to do this dance with the EQ.

Now, I am kind of over listening in my bedroom. I listen so much when I am awake now, that I am ready for silence by the time I get to bed. I used it more when I had a house full of guests all the time that had me going to bed earlier to accommodate their earlier than normal bed times.

We are actually going to review these this fall. I have already done the measurements. We will also be looking at the low-cost 15" from Dayton. Stay tuned to Audioholics for all your exciting budget 15" subwoofer evaluations!!

Man that's awesome Shady. I'm just getting these temporarily until I sell off some gear. I'm suspecting theses will be solid to 30hz but that's really it. That's all Ill need in the bedroom setup for now. Can't wait to see the measurements!!!!!

Shipping says they will be here tomorrow. I won't be able to set them up until this weekend because I'll be going into work. Ill run some measurements on them this weekend and we can see what they do in my room. I'm curious to see what a budget 15 from Monoprice can do. My guess is they will be a mid-bass monster. I'm hoping they can be flat in room down to 30hz and I'll be happy for now.

They just arrived this afternoon this should be fun cant wait to post some measurements for you guys when I get them set up this weekend. I'm very interested on seeing what a 65 pound budget 15 that I acquired for $209 each can do.

It's going to be a long 2 days at work :D
Have fun! I just set up my wiim streamer and it took most of the morning. Sometimes purchasing something new for your system is more fun than actually hooking it up.:)

They actually have a downfiring port. Will be interesting to see how they perform.

Cool. I didn’t realize. Seems like could be a good choice for the price range.

So they are extremely well packed which is a good thing because one of the boxes took damage

Double Boxed foam on top and bottom I really don't know how Monoprice does it.
