To date, the most taxing thing I’ve done to my system is the Netflix Godzilla trilogy. But that was more on my subs than the speakers. But even those X-13s and the 2200s still played nicely. Several have commented that if your aren't stressing your equipment, you will be getting the best performance and the best longevity... My subs are overkill in my room and I only have the gain between 1/4 and 1/3, negative trim in the AVR. And as I stated earlier in this thread, I probably don't come anywhere close to exceeding 2-4w per speaker when I listen. I have the headroom I can use when I want or need, but the rest of the time, its a cakewalk. I could have found more watts for less money... I could have bought fewer amps and relied on my AVR more... BUT!... I wouldn't change a thing.

You shouldn't skimp on quality, necessarily, but you don't need them all tone and timbre matched. Wish I had your problem, at least in this situation! Considering you just bought 11 2200s, and 7 JTRs... don't see why you wouldn't go all in, at this point. You will have a system people dream of, I think. It would be the same if I had 5 Phil 3s and 6 BMRs. (Though frankly, I would settle for 2+9.)

He said he wouldn’t provide any speaker measurements. So after that I wouldn’t ask him anything.

Could those JTR Slanted speakers be installed overhead? With 8’ ceiling, you are going to be pretty close to the ceiling speakers. So the Klipsch ceiling speakers you mentioned would be good. With 8’ ceiling, you are going to be pretty close to the ceiling speakers. So the Klipsch ceiling speakers you mentioned would be good.

Pro speakers can go from 60 to 115 dB without flinching and play louder than life too. There is a speaker for everyone. No big deal. Some people think Klipsch sound “larger than life” too.
