JBL L56 recone opinions

So I want to go ahead and probably recone my JBL l 56 speaker woofer, the 118H or h118 I forget. I however had a few questions now that I've educated myself a little bit in the area . Thanks to you guys of course! Hehehe

Is there anyway I can keep you cool original white material the speaker is made out of. I have noticed the speakers only have a recone kit with a black speaker material available for it. It has no sentimental value to me but I do like the way these JBL sound. Great sound stage I guess they call it, and they sound fun. I may sell them one day so I would like to keep the original speaker material if possible.

It pops loudly whenever the bass comes on. I'm sure this could probably happen if the voice coil wires were somehow messed up down there. I'm sure it can make a lot of strange unique sounds based on electronics in general lol. I've learned this from you guys I'm excited to say! I like to thank you for teaching me and giving me the motivation to learn about speakers a bit more than I did before!

Any motivational comments for my undertaking or possibly the the opposite? I'll comments very welcome as I am a new be to this! JBLL 56

Best way to get them to match is do both...both re-coned with black cones.
It's a stroke of luck that a company has a proper cone and voicecoil/spider for those speakers in the first place.

Chances are that the woofer that works now could fail soon....it was probably pushed as hard as the one that has already failed and has voicecoil damage of its own, just not as extreme.

These old JBL's were rock-n-roll speakers. People bought them to play loud and long.
