Do you have a cable that you like for these for consumer grade connections? I think they only have balanced connections now?
I am using my LSR-305's with an Echo Dot.
For that, I simply use a 1/8" mini to RCA (after making sure the RCA stereo cables could be separated by simply pulling them apart - so a 6 ft cable will allow ~12 ft separation of speakers) then making the connection using a right angle RCA to 1/4" adapter.
I do not have any other wires to cause problems so did not worry about a balanced connection.
Here is what I used:

I also have this connector which works well (again making sure that the L and R cables are not interlocked to prevent pulling them apart),but ended up finalizing on the above setup because I like the right angle connectors so the 1/4" jack is not sticking out (even though I have 3" clearance behind the 305 for the port). I have read that a good rule of thumb is to allow clearance of 1.5 times the port diameter to prevent interference.

For my Focal Twin6 Be, I went with Monoprice RCA to XLR cables. I like these for the heavy duty, yet pliable pro audio patch cords since they are often run along the floor and with other cables in my main system:

I just hooked mine up and checked them out last night using unbalanced TS cables from a Yammy mixer. That's the only way I have available right now to hook them up.

Turned on the drum machine and played around a little. Not really possible to comment on audio quality from a drum machine, but I do like what I heard!

I'll patch in a CD player over the weekend and have a better listen.

Now that I have seen them in person, I think you have to be really dedicated to even consider the size of the 8" model!
