I bought a Radio Shack sound level meter from ebay and I don't think its working properly. When I move the dial to lets say 70 the meter moves all the way to the right. If I shake it a little the needle goes all the way back to the left at the -10 reading. So I play some test tones and the needle moves up to -2 so I assume this means its at 68dB? So I calibrate each channel so that the needle is at the same level but i'm still not sure if my meter is working properly. I thought the needle goes to the middle at zero and goes either left or right and you add or subtract the reading to what you have your scale at.
