Well the Vice President is the decider on a 50/50 split. The President then signs the bill. My point is reconciliation is useful to you when you agree with it but complain about it when not. Add in Trump losing everything and it's kinda like crying over your own spilled milk.

VP is the 'decider' only as the tie-breaker in the Senate (interesting that you used a word W was derided for) but POTUS can enact legislation if Congress can't get it passed and the fact that he WAS President of the Senate for 8 years, as well as being a Senator for 39 years, means that he knows what can & can't be done. My problem with that comment is in his way of telling the reporter that he seems to think he's a damn king, or something.

Trump effed up, big time. However, the methods being used now and the long-term damage will be hard to overcome.

New gun buyer stats show that people in the states with the most strict gun control have decided that they would rather be able to defend themselves, than not. Also, roughly 40% of the new gun buyers in the last year were women and minorities. It seems that new emphasis is being placed on more spending for police- that will need additional/better training and recurring mental health assessments for officers, especially those involved in violent/extremely traumatic incidents)- if they don't include those, nothing will change.

Biden wants a bipartisan agreement attached with reconciliation, and that's going to be very difficult to achieve. This bill is in the neighborhood of 3.5 to 5 trillion. Bernie would've been even worse as prez. He wants a 6 trillion package!

Well yeah he wants bipartisan agreement to use as a cover. I'm sorry to be cold, but even if every Republican votes against this in both branches and the Dems have the votes with a 51 House and a Senate 50/50 tiebreak, well what do you want me to say? Now if they don't have the votes and jam it through than obviously that's terrible. Right now it looks like there might be enough moderate Dems to keep this from passing.
