Is Definitive Technology Polk Audio Under a Different Name?

Does the sock go all the way around? Is it removable, or is it like an Svs cylinder sock?

If its removable, would one of the deftech owners mind posting a pic or two?

It's just like a pair of panty hose I guess that stretches over the speaker. You take the top cap of the tower and theres a drawstring kinda thing that snugs the sock up. I'll take a look tonight. If it's not too much of a pain the a$$, I'll take some snaps.

Granted this is not the place for this comment, but I figure if someone can post a leg-lamp picture I can post about the theft of intellectual property here on Audioholics. And just because he beat me to it, with no prior knowledge of my idea, doesn't make it okay. Before I bought my Cantons I was thinking about the DefTech towers. But the whole stetchy sock idea turned me off. I was afraid my cats would turn them into scratching post. The Canton Ergo's have perforated aluminum grill.

I was worried about our cat... he's declawed, but he still like to "window wash" as we call it. Oddly enough, he doesn't mess with the speakers. He likes to lay next to them but he doesn't scratch on them.

I like Canton speakers. I used to have them in my car back in the day when car stereo ruled. I'm not super familiar with their home stereo speakers but I did hear them once in a shop in Orlando, FL. They did sound very good, but I think the setup wasn't very good. They sure do look really nice.

I bet those perforated aluminum grills make great cat nail trimmers I know what you mean though DEF TECS were one of my top choices and every other thought when I was looking and listening to them was my cat and were I was going to hang him j/k if he clawed those socks on the speakers and how much it would be to replace them so even though I loved the sound I settled for my Paradigms because there was less grill area but needless to say I am happy with my Paradigms but those def tecs rock too . Thank goodness my cat grew out of the scratching stage when he was a kitten or he'd of been the first Siamese cat on the moon. All he does now is sniff my speakers once in great while And I give him the evil eye and he knows and thinks better of it or he gets the ole mighty squirt bottle if he hangs around them to long lol .

Ya mine almost got declawed when he was a kitten because he scratched my polk audio speaker covers and my old toshiba wide screen on the cloth base and even picked off the silver toshiba badge on the cover so he could play with it But a little disiplin and sratch pads all over the house, more toys and bigger squirt bottle with more pressure and he was good to go

4) Wife Acceptable Factor - Check

When your pet/cat has nails that would rival a sushi bar chefs favorite knife you must change your order of priorities and in my case I eliminated step 4 and gained step 5 which became priority #1
