iPod for Your Bathroom, Anyone?

Sometimes a product comes along that is so revolutionary, so innovative, that the entire world sits up and applauds. Well, the world may sit up, but that is not applause you are hearing. When the newspaper or the occasional car, boat, or “mens” magazine is not enough, how ‘bout a few tunes? (Editor's note: Why this isn't called the "iPot" I'll never know.)

I think it's great. It's probably a joke, but if not, put me down for two!

If I really want music in the bathroom that bad, I'll turn my main system up louder...

That doesn't work with me, all I get is bass.

Maybe I should just leave the door open

I can still hear my system through the door. The highs are definitely not there, but...you can still clearly hear what is playing :)

Please don't leave the door open...:p

I couldn't find it for sale online either, but I did find an article saying it was going to retail for $99. This has to be the most unique iPod accessory I've ever seen.

I pretty much call BS... has to be a publicity stunt.
If it is a publicity stunt, they are getting it. I found maybe 6 or so articles about it.

In custom distributed audio installations I almost never see a setup that doesn't include the master bathroom as one of the zones. I mean, what rooms do you spend the most time in?

Your theater - duh. Family room... okay. Kitchen - sure.

Now, we have speakers in the dining room - which we eat in once every 2-3 months. The living room... once every month we are in there. Front porch... almost never. Garage and rear deck - a couple of times a week.

Bathroom... EVERY SINGLE DAY!

Heck, I still have to give my son a bath and everyday I wish I had put speakers into his bathroom. While it may be a joke, it could also sell fairly well for those Podders who simply want to hear some musak during their shower or toilet time. Very silly... but sure, why not? In my master bath that would be some extra speakers and would go right below the phone by the toilet.

Yeah, I was being serious in my first post that said, this is probably a joke, but if it turns up to be real, I'll buy two!

whats wrong with music in the bathroom?

Its the only room in my house that I don't have Surround Sound in, but I do have a boom box in my bathroom that plays 3 CDs. I replaced the crappy boom box speakers with Cambridge Soundworks satellite speakers, and for morning showers or evening baths, its nice to have MUSIC! I've been thinking of adding a subwoofer! I'd love to say I'm kidding, but I like my tunes, especially when I'm waking up in the shower. ( I dont sleep there, I just mean, I am still waking up) A hook up for an ipod in the bathroom seems like a cool idea to me. Its one room in the house where I don't really need "perfect" sound either, since its already competing with the water from the shower.

Yeah, it is handy. So why not just put an Ipod Hi-Fi or equivilent in there? No need to plug it into the toilet paper dispencer.
