<font color='#000000'>All of your concerns regarding Integra Research and what you think there policy should be have been noted. &nbsp;I think this is a good stopping point for this forum as much of it seems counterproductive and repetitive. &nbsp;When we hear back from Integra Research on their going forward policy for curernt RDC7 owners we will surely update our readership. &nbsp; &nbsp;In the meantime I encourage current owners to continue enjoying thier products and hope for an economical policy that will benefit all parties.</font>

RDC7 / Firewire at least...

I at least have got a confirmation that probably during this summer, there will be an upgrade to a firewire interface for the RDC7. If this also includes "other stuff" I dont know...,,..

Futureprof or not..?,
Well, sure I'd prefer all upcoming HW/SW upgrades, but ;
1. I do think that they HAVE TO release the firewire since Im probably not
the only one who saw this feature as part of the "spec",, and,, they said they should release it LONG back...

2. Any kind of upgrades that can be done concerning SW level, yeah, they should supply that,, and for some of us "freaks",, upgrading every FW version is a MUST even how small the fix can be.

3. HW upgrades that can be installed that's "reasonable" should be offered.
For instance,, new DAC's ( if that was an issue) sure,
but,, some of the new DVI, DSD etc stuff,, well, I understand and think it's ok that there wont be any...,,


Also, from the "person" I got the confirmation regarding Firewire to RDC7, I also got the info that this would probably be the last upgrade supplied.

Well I just bough my new rdc-7 upgraded, and I don't intend to trade it in just now.
The thing however is that I have an i.link equiped DVD and I wonder whether or not is there going to be an upgrade to support this on the RDC-7. I just posted a message requesting this info in the integra research website, but I doubt they will reply me. If they do however, I'll let you know what they tell me.
I understand, from the manual of my DVD unit, that it improves the quality of the audio, and lets you listen to SACD. I don't know if it transports video also. Anyway I think it is better than coaxial.
