Inline karaoke mixer between TV and receiver

Now the only issue I have is that the Miser has to be on all the time to watch TV, there is no passthrough of the optical audio.

Another question on this setup - Can I connect the TVs HDMI/ARC input to the HDMI input of the mixer (to get the TV audio to the mixer)? If the mixer passes through HDMI perhaps I could then connect the mixer to the Denon via HDMI.

Seriously, I have no life.

The anti pirating HDCP codes won't let you do that.

WOW! It worked. Setting the Denon to Pure Direct eliminated the delay. Thank you!
Now I want to know why.
Because there is no processing in Direct Mode. That’s how we know that Direct mode is truly “Direct”.

And thankfully with Denon/Marantz, you can still have Subwoofer Output even in Direct Mode. No other companies I know of allow Bass Management in Direct Mode.

Here is a thread I started on Karaoke. This is how I do it. I don’t know about other ways.

The only time I have to turn on the Yamaha mixer is for Karaoke. When I watch movies, the mixer stays OFF.
