I suspect because it eliminated a layer of digital processing.WOW! It worked. Setting the Denon to Pure Direct eliminated the delay. Thank you!
Now I want to know why.

The anti pirating HDCP codes won't let you do that. Now the only issue I have is that the Miser has to be on all the time to watch TV, there is no passthrough of the optical audio.
Another question on this setup - Can I connect the TVs HDMI/ARC input to the HDMI input of the mixer (to get the TV audio to the mixer)? If the mixer passes through HDMI perhaps I could then connect the mixer to the Denon via HDMI.
Because there is no processing in Direct Mode. That’s how we know that Direct mode is truly “Direct”.WOW! It worked. Setting the Denon to Pure Direct eliminated the delay. Thank you!
