Bose is evil. They have no defense, they just love to make me come over to a friends house to show me his new 4000$ system and I have to sit there and say "yeah, sounds nice" when im thinking " argh my trucks stock system sounds better."

I wonder how Jamie2112 would feel about using Bozo speakers in a professional application? ;) :)

To me there is only one Bose and that's the 901's. I have owned 901 Series II in the mid 70's and Series V in the earley 80's. I had (4) 901 Series V and used to drive them with a VSP Laboratory Gold Edition Straigh Wire Pre-Amp and (2) VSP Gold Editon Power-Amps (MOS-FET) 200 watts X2 and they sounded fantastic. If anything the 901'a are the only true Bose, but you can't come with a 100 watt receiver and make a judgement. They can take 1600 Watts per speaker.

I guess it would depend on what you mean by professional application.
A Jimmy Buffet wana be playing guitar on the deck of an outdoor seafood restaurant, is one thing.
Playing ZZ Top in a stadium is another.:)

Walter, is there a pair of speakers or amp combo that you haven't owned?:D:)
I wish I knew you back then.

Seriously, I have no life.
Well I got 3 CD's signed, and got to talk to 110-lb Mindi. That's gotta count for something.:D:p
Her and I can take being branded.:D
I think her sax weighs more than she does; I kept offering her some food.:D
EDIT: You guys are just jealous, because I've been chatting on line with Mindi all day.(about Bose):D
Well, if you love her so much, why don't you marry her?:D

That could be risky - Mindi and his wife might get into a "new groove" and ditch Rickster!

I'm just saying...
He's just got to pitch his worth to the team. He fixes things, kills spiders, has a big tool, etc....

I loved how she was tonguing that sax! :p
Yeah, if I were watching her play the saxaphone like that, the speakers would be the last thing on my mind.:D

Like KEW says, I think $40 computer speakers would sound just as great in this situation.

They have been abducted by aliens, and they are no longer themselves!!!

Or maybe they are not telling us the WHOLE story here...

Like maybe that blonde gave them a private tour and brainwashed them?:D

Your observations are correct, The House system does not only consist of the Bose L1's because as you know some artists don't know enough about them or just like to stick to what they know, like floor monitors, amps etc. Thats the only reason I can't go all Bose. By the way if you would like to see a video clip from that night in the club go on chicos house of jazz site (media gallery)scroll down to videos, Mindi and the boys are rockin out on the song "Lucy's".

Enjoy, I know I did.

... and regarding the 901's and those phallic jobs; I have heard the monoliths used by a DJ at a wedding and once people started drinking and dancing he turned them up past the point where distortion was easily audible. They sucked. I heard the 901's at a Bose Store. They were positioned on a display that had angled walls behind them to assist with their weird placement requirements and they did sound good. I've been in a lot of rooms in my life and have never seen little angled walls like that. I didn't think I would have trouble finding speakers that sounded better for the money though, never mind without angled walls ... and never mind 3,200 watts being poured into them. I've heard better speaker performance out of a normal receiver at Rick's.

There really is no defense for Bose unless of course you need your speakers to look like 7 foot tall ... monoliths.
I bet you thought I was going to say *****. :D
