Thanks KEW
I didn't round up, I got 7.0685 per 3" driver.
And I was kidding about the two 36" drivers.:D

That's interesting; it's the equivalent of two 10.4" drivers.
and a 500-watt amp.

Still, you're not looking for the surface area of a circle as much as you're looking for the surface area of a cone ... as if it matters. I wonder if there's a big enough math geek out there for this one.

I see what you're saying; though I think the calculation is in the ball park.

Was just surprised at the amount of surface area.

Okay, you're messing with my OCD now!
Ignoring differences in dust caps or phase plugs and assume simple cones both with the same angle, the proportions stay the same and you would still get 24 X 3" diameter = 2 X 10.4" diameter.

... but the cone effect of 24 (3) inchers can't be the same as the cone effect of 2 (10.4) inchers. It's preposterous I tell you! Just kidding. Don't let that keep you awake ... for days.

Oh, The Cone Effect. Why didn't you say that in the first place?
I think Madonna used that with those bras she used to wear.
She was a "B" cup but it made her look like a "C" Just sayin.

You just have to let this whole Bose thing go. Walk away from it's pulsing 500-watts of dual 10.4" goodness. Or for that matter, the 24 x 3" stuff too.:D
