Has anyone ordered speakers from the UK and had them shipped to the USA? I've found quite a few deals abroad, but not sure if there would be any extra expenses due to customs, etc. when shipping.

Any and all details would be greatly appreciated.

There can be duties. No taxes. U.S. customs rarely collects duties but they can if they want to. They should be collecting duties on everything imported into this country instead of income taxing us so much but that's the way it is.

Shipping costs from the U.K. could be pretty steep.

I agree with fmw. Taxes and duties are not the issue...though they very well could be. Shipping (particularly if they're heavy or voluminous) and the exchange rate are the cost considerations.

There are different tariffs that apply to what you bring into the country. Besides the US Customs duty, and/or import tax (if applicable), be advised that freight from UK to USA can be high, especially these days with the Euro being stronger than the US Dollar. Also, there will be a fee that the customs broker will charge. If you want an idea, have the following info ready: Shipment Value, Dimensions of packages, and total weight of shipment. Call a freight forwarder, for a quick quote I recommend APX, as they have an online freight calculator (look it up in Yahoo or Google) that can give you an idea.
