If you had to choose....

I ordered the Infinity P163's and they were WAY too big for my room (aesthetic wise). I am looking for something significantly smaller for my surrounds in the rear corners and these are my choices so far:

- Definitive Pro Monitor 800/1000
- Cambridge S20
- NHT Wall/SuperZero
- Xiom QS4/8
- Energy CB-5
- Anthony Gallo A'Diva/Micro

I am leaning towards the Pro Monitor or S20 right now, but up for any other suggestions and recommendations.

My system so far (Thanks to ShadyJ):

- Denon X4000
- (2) Infinity P363's
- Infinity C351
- (2) Rythmik LV12R's

Picking speakers by aesthetics may be a mistake.
You can fit two subs, but not the P163's?
Of the speakers on your list, I've only heard the Anthony Gallo's and I like them.

Are the Infinity P143's still too large for your liking? They're all you need for surrounds.


Is it too late to swap out the PC251 for the PC351? The PC351 will be a superior sounding speaker (particularly off-axis) due to it's twin 3" midranges, and well worth the extra coin.

The subs haven't made it yet. However, they ARE fitting somewhere...haha. Unfortunately, the P163's were just way to big to hang where I need to put them.

Can you fit the P143's?

The 143s need to be crossed @ 100Hz while the 150/153s are good to 80 Hz.

BTW, I'm retiring my P150s. If I can find the shipping box I'd consider parting with them but I'm in New England in case local pick up would work. The 143s have that highly regarded 4" midrange so they do 100Hz on up very well indeed.

It's important that your rec'r has multiple variable xo points if you use the 143s unless you want to cross everything at 100 Hz.

Owner's Manual:

• Speaker Selection

Selects how to set the crossover frequency. See the speaker manual for information concerning speaker crossover frequency.
All (Default) : Sets the same crossover frequency for all speakers.
Individual : Selects the crossover points for each speaker individually.

• Set the crossover frequency

40Hz / 60Hz / 80Hz (Default) / 90Hz / 100Hz / 110Hz / 120Hz / 150Hz / 200Hz / 250Hz

Right. But although the menu says, "Individual", it really pairs your speakers and lets you assign crossover by pair... ex Front L/R, Surround L/R, Rear Surround L/R, etc. The Center is the only single choice I see.

There's a surround I called and inquired about pricing on (ea. or pr.) and I've forgot the name, still archiving…
they looked much like the Legacy Phantom but under $1K for the pair.
One really cool feature, was they could be run as rear or side channel, or
with dual inputs on each speaker, could be both a side and a rear,
which should promise to have a lot of appeal to both space and budget for quality.

After hearing the price, I considered 2 of the ML speakers for rear only
but am still waiting on my setup to get off the ground a bit further.
If anybody recognizes the description of these surrounds, please do chime in.

I found the surrounds I was talking about that uses Duet technology
SVS ultra surrounds, though they're 14 x 12.3 x 5.4"
SVS Ultra Surround - Premium surround loudspeaker with dual 1" aluminum dome tweeters, dual 5.5" woofers and bipole, dipole and Duet configuration modes
sounds like a really nice way to run 4 channels in 2 speakers
or just 2 channels.

Martin Logan offers a 40% wider dispersion of the radiating surface with
their Eletro Motion FX2 still a bit sizeable, but their Motion Series is more affordable and down sized, slim lined.
