Wouldn't trade my SVS PB-12 ISD sub for a Porsche Cayman!

Shouldn't that be Porsche Cayenne? Is the Cayman a new model? :D

Looks like a boxter and a 911 got a hotel room together.

Don't know if I like that body shape.

But that's off-topic, so I digress.

Yeah, basically; it's a hardtop Boxster. The odd thing is the S version is out first this time.

The Sub is here and all I can say is "What?"

So far so impressive. Dialed it in (and everything else) with my new SPL meter and started sampling everything I could think of. So far the louder the better. The sub seems to allow all my speakers at a higher level. I think that's because the old sub distorted quite easily. I'll see what the neighbors think :) . Once I get all my messes cleaned up I'll post some pics in the members systems area.

Thanks all for the great advice! Couldn't be happier with the PB12-ISD.

Okay so I have a new home with a basement home theater. My speakers, with the exception of the subwoofer, get the job done very well in my opinion. I am really just missing that bottom end oomph. I have managed to round up some cash and am looking to upgrade my sub. I came to $750 because that is the price of the paradigm PW 2100 which I heard and liked. That was before I discovered this site and realized all the options out there.
The room is 13'x28'x8'. Do I need to go to a 12" sub will a 10" still do the trick? Looking for advice. My local paradigm dealer obviously really likes it but I was hoping for some less biased opinions.

Thanks in advance.
take my advice go with the pw2100 for the money you want to spend and dont look at any others.

I doubt this is a less biased opinion, as BassHead seems to be a Para fanboy or employee. (Check out all his posts.) "Don't look at any others"? Now there's a sample of salesman talk, lol, and probably the worst advice you can get, Ragtop.

There are many superior subwoofers out there, in your price range, that beg for your investigation. Start with the Hsu-HO (pre-order price $799) and the SVS (just saw a B-stock PB12-ISD/2 on their site for $750!!).

For others who are in that "$750 price range club"...

I'd also suggest looking into the 1000 watt 15" sealed Titanic MKIII from PE at $688 shipped:

Heh, I actually avoided the kind of advice you gave Ragtop and "looked at (and owned many) other" subs. How about you? And yes, I've heard the 2100. I'd rate it right up there with the JBLs. ;)

I owned a Pardigm sub and demoed the 2200 - neither could hold a candle to my PB10, BUT I would love to try out the servo 15 :)

Have YOU ever listened to a SVS or HSU sub? I'd wager you haven't because you probably would be singing a different tune if you had.

I have heard the PB-12ISD and the 2200. The PB-12 costs less and easily performs as well as, if not better than, the 2200.
