I think I blew the front left and right outputs on my Harman Kardon receiver

I opened the speaker and it wasn’t appearing to have damage. I’Il tamper with it one day.

The DPR1001 used a Cirrus Logic digital amplifier circuit..
But that unit is @ least 14 years old, so parts will be tough to source...

Just my $0.02.. ;)

Sometimes we have to take a dive. That was cool, though. Sometimes I buy electronics that need repair and proud of my work, but this is the first time I messed up an operable system. I knew I was wrong to have both systems on, but, in the past, I guess I was lucky. I normally have two systems connected to the bass. Maybe what it was is the Sony had 100 watt outputs and the Harman Kardon DPR 1001 had 50 each outputs.
I would not advise hooking up 2 amps like that, even if 1 of them is shut off at the time.

Thanks. I thought I fried something in the DPR. I just blew the two surround fronts. Lucky me. Again, Thanks

Also, I had both amps hooked to the same woofer for months. I disconnected that layout. Been doing that for years with no problems. Would not do that again, either. I learned not to connect two receivers from you guys during this conversation. I guess it’s true sometimes what you don’t know won’t hurt you. When you’re poor, improvisation can help you survive a while until you can get help

Noted..
I was the original program manager for that platform, spent several weeks in S.Korea for its design & mass production. Don't know for sure...
But I think that was the 1st AVR w/Dolby Surround that had a digital amplifier stage and the signal remained in the digital domain from input till output.. Though limited in power output power, many users loved that product in its day. If yours is still running after 14 years, that is impressive...

Just my $0.02.. ;)
