I only ever listen to the radio in my car too, so no tuner with my integrated, and no antena hooked up to my receiver.
Amen, sadly it doesnt work that way....its such a shame.Shadow_Ferret said:This is how my logic works. A receiver should be the most expensive. It has all the parts in it. An integrated should be a little less expensive because it doesn't have a tuner. Then by the time you get to complete seperates, they should be cheap as all get out because they are just single pieces.
Can I get an Amen?![]()
I just looked in my Buyer's Guide and very few are more than 2 channel. There's a 5 channel Pathos for 8 grand and a 6 channel Thule for 5 grand.![]()
So, if you want to run a HT system, you have to have anywhere from 3 to 5 amps depending on how many channels they run?Resident Loser said:...Sorry, no.
A receiver may have "...all the parts in it..." But it's all on one chassis, in one cabinet, with one power suppy...and trade-offs are made to meet a price point...
Perhaps for the HT crowd multi-channel receivers are OK but I prefer separates...Integrateds DO somewhat qualify as they are a good place to start.

Everything in our hobby is "over kill" to most ppl, but just think how cool an audio rack would look with just a Receiver or Pre/Pro up top, with 3 to 5 amps sitting under neath of it, thats my dream, needing a second audio rack for my game systems and video players.Shadow_Ferret said:So, if you want to run a HT system, you have to have anywhere from 3 to 5 amps depending on how many channels they run?Isn't that a bit overkill?
OVERkill?Shadow_Ferret said:So, if you want to run a HT system, you have to have anywhere from 3 to 5 amps depending on how many channels they run?Isn't that a bit overkill?
well at least you have a start on that alreadyj_garcia said:OVERkill? The only improvement I'd like to make in my system would be to have monoblocks for every channel

...in sentence two, since laser totin' mechanical lizards are all the rage, multi ch recs may be OK for the HT crowd.Shadow_Ferret said:So, if you want to run a HT system, you have to have anywhere from 3 to 5 amps depending on how many channels they run?Isn't that a bit overkill?
Many times (Resident Loser said:(...did I mention my dislike of HT?...)
