I have an Onkyo 805 and Toshiba HD A3 in boxes awaiting my move next week. With all the blu ray developments I am going to send the A3 back for a blu ray. Since the 805 decodes tru HD I don't have to get a player that does so, right? So the less expensive Samsung BD1200 with the 805 will give me the best sound out, right? I'm hemorrhaging cash but I want to get it right!!Thanks

The only way you will be able to utilize the codecs in your receiver is to have a player that will bitstream the audio out. Otherwise the player will decode the audio internally and output it as LPCM. But pretty much all players will at least decode internally, I don't think there are currently too many players out that will send the audio via bitstream. But since you have the receiver that can handle whatever, you will be good regardless of what player you use. I've also been reading about numerous problems that player is having playing certain discs over at the blu-ray.com forums. So you may want to consider a different player, check out the Panasonic BD30
