After months of listening, reading, listening and reading, I finally chose the RS6s in black.
I got a very good deal for them and they should arrive next monday
I'm really stocked.
For me this is the first "real" speakers I get for the living room. No more tiny computer cubes. A year ago I was almost ready to buy the bronze range. I'm glad I decided to wait, listen to more speakers and continue to read Audioholics
Next month I'll get the center channel. Till then I'll just listen to music and watch movies in stereo. It will be nice to grow from 2.0 to 5.1 with quality speakers.
For amplification, as a temporary solution, I'll use the stuff that equips my home office. I have a Yamaha RX-V861 and a Behringer EP2500. Do you think the Behringer will be best? Although more noisy (even with the fan swap) it's much more powerful than the 861. On the other hand, the RS6s seem easy to power and I don't like to listen to loud music. The versatility of the various inputs on the receiver should tip the scale for the 861.
At least I want to try both to hear (or not) the difference between the receiver and the amp.
I wonder if the 861 will just do nicely.
I haven't decided on the side/rears but I'll probably get the RS1s.
I can't wait. I'm off to buy black, fat speaker cable (or maybe I'll just paint my BlueJeans Ten White).
